And more spoons.
Yeah, that's a lot of spoons. This was a tutorial I used here. I really liked it. I liked how the background is created. I used the blur effect, and took a texture, put soft light on it, to make it look different. I like it!

Do you? n_n

#5: Gig of the Year Poster

This is when I got totally hardcore with my Photoshop skills. Oh course I used a tutorial for this, but thats how you learn!!

This was a "test" and we had to make a fake gig poster for something. This was my first try at it, but I didn't like it. I used a tutorial which went over a lot of different techniques and tools to use in Photoshop. The first tutorial I did Is this link here.  It is a fun tutorial to go over to make something like this. Just have to try it!

This is the final product. I used this tutorial right here. I really like this. The guest star Anklepants, is a fake band I made up. But the band In Virtue is a real American Power Metal Band. Check them out!

#4: I'm a ripoff Photographer !

I have such good skills in photography...ripoff photography that it!

This was practicing with the blur tool and effect. I tried giving it the effect of the surrounding background blurred and not really noticeable, but showing that there is a clear face in the blur. This is a photo of  Will Swan (Guitarist of Dance Gavin Dance).

Check out the band. Super awesome band! New album is coming out in April 2011!

Another example of what I did. But I added a smart filter of blurs to it. I also used a Curves layer to change the darkness/color of the photo. This is a photo of an album by a band called A Skylit Drive. Another great band!

#3: Billy What?

Post your first reaction in the comments below. Most likely: "WHAT IS THIS?!?!"

Well, it was originally Billy Mays (RIP :( ). Thanks to Google, I found the dog face and butterfly wings. I used the lasso tool and magic wand to crop out parts of the image. I put it all together, but it didn't look good. I used effects and changed the brightness of the Dog face, for example, to try and match it with the photo. It sort of worked, not really. I used the smudge tool to try and fit it on the body better.

So, I created Billy Dog Butterfly Mays. I would like to thank my crazy brain of thinking of this. Thank you.

#2: Color back in the day?

WHAT IS THIS?

Oh yeah, Photoshop's magic.

In this assignment, we had to take an old photo and add color to it. Sounds easy? NO, it was a challenge.
We had to use the selection tool, brush, changing opacity, and the magic wand. We used the magic wand to select a certain area, then filled it in with the brush. But we had to change the opacity to make it look more realistic.

It was pretty cool. I did this quite a bit.

#1: Fruit Face!

Oh yeah. A fruit face. You can't do this!

Well...most likely you can. This was the first assignment. We just simply made a face out of fruit. It taught me about using layers, the move tool, and the magnetic lasso tool. Pretty basic stuff.

Just a start. Much more to come. Much more to come for you to make fun of it!

James Thorne's Blog, a New Beginning.

This is a new beginning. A time has come for a new blog. A blog with amazement. A blog with fun. A blog that will make you laugh (or chuckle). A blog that will make wish you can smell like a man. An Old Spice Man. Sadly, you are not a man. Or a monster.

This is James Thorne's blog. This blog will contain randomness, but mainly it is a blog for me (James) to show the world the work I've been learning in a Photoshop class I am taking.

Enjoy.
